Who is responsible for your information
JNJN LTD is the data controller for Theory Connect. JNJN LTD is registered in England and Wales under company number 13628506. Its registered office is 14/2E Docklands Business Centre, 10–16 Tiller Road, London, England, E14 8PX.
What we collect
Account and contact details, tutor application and qualification information, booking records, payment references, messages generated by service events, and technical security logs. Stripe holds payment-card and tutor bank details; Theory Connect does not store them.
Live-class recordings
Group classes are recorded automatically when the tutor joins. A notice is shown before each participant enters. The recording may include the tutor’s audio, video and shared screen, together with any audio, video or material a participant chooses to share. Finished recordings are processed by Daily and made available only to eligible Theory Connect members and administrators. One-to-one lessons are not recorded automatically.
Why we use it
We use information to provide accounts, review tutors, arrange sessions and classes, support payments and refunds, provide class catch-up recordings, prevent abuse, meet legal duties, and improve marketplace reliability. These activities rely on performing our contract, complying with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating a safe service, or consent where required. We will ask for consent before optional marketing or non-essential analytics.
Who receives it
Only the learner and tutor information needed to deliver a booking is shared between them. Carefully selected infrastructure, authentication, payment, video and communications suppliers process information under contract. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and your rights
Account and application data is reviewed after 24 months of inactivity. Class recordings are reviewed at least annually and removed when they are no longer useful for learning or are no longer needed. Security logs are normally kept for 90 days. Financial, refund and audit records may be retained for up to seven years where legally required. You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection by emailing privacy@theoryconnect.co.uk. Legal retention duties may limit deletion.
